Treatments cure diabetes

 There are two types of diabetes which include type1 and type 2. In type 1, body produces no insulin or less insulin which is unable to regulate the blood glucose level whereas in type 2, pancreas secrete insulin but the body is not able to utilize it. Therefore in diabetic patients, body is unable to regulate the blood sugar level. Type 1 is most common among the children and type 2 is detected after the age of 45 years.

 The purpose of treating diabetes is to regulate the level of glucose in the blood. Treatments can cure diabetes provided patients change their lifestyle and regularly keep track of their glucose level.

 Controlling one’s diet is a key factor for controlling blood glucose level. As patients with diabetes are usually obese, they need to reduce their weight and should eat a balanced diet with low fats and high fiber. Patients should reduce the sugar intake and should keep the intake of calories constant every day.

 Exercise is crucial to reducing weight and also controlling diabetes. It is essential for the diabetic patients to go on regular walks in order to avoid the health risks like heart attack and high blood pressure, which are associated with diabetes. Patients are recommended to take at least 30 minutes walk every day.

 Diabetics should not drink alcoholic drinks as it could lower or increase their blood glucose levels beyond the normal. They should also avoid smoking as it deteriorates the condition of heart causing heart attacks and stroke .

The advancements made in the field of science have made it possible to produce insulin in the lab which could be administered to diabetic patients (typically type 2) through injections in order to control glucose level in the blood. However, a lot of research is still going on by the scientists to design the best possible treatment that can cure diabetes.
